Wilsonville, with a population of over 19,500 residents, serves as dual gateway city along Interstate 5 between the more urbanized Portland metro area and the largely agricultural North Willamette Valley. Wilsonville offers city services while also maintaining a connection to the charm and appeal of rural Oregon. We have carefully transitioned from a small farming community to a well-planned city with a mix of high-tech industries and family businesses.
For the past 10 years, Wilsonville has been one of Oregon’s top-10 fastest growing cities with population over 10,000. The Villebois urban village is a compact community with a European feel and includes a growing commercial village center. When built-out, Villebois will have over 2,400 residential units with approximately 7,500 residents, bringing the city’s population to over 24,000.
Wilsonville’s 800-plus businesses provide 15,000 full-time jobs, with about two-thirds of these positions in high-wage industrial occupations of manufacturing or wholesale distribution. The total annual business payroll exceeds $800 million annually, a 63% increase since 2000. Wilsonville’s South Metro Area Regional Transit (SMART) system is a reliable, alternative form of transportation that serves both residents and commuting workers.
Wilsonville’s library and community recreation programs are considered outstanding for a small town. We have been designated a Tree City USA for over 10 years and we take pride in maintaining our wonderful parks and urban forest. Wilsonville has won state and national awards in planning, urban forestry, wastewater and water management, finance and transit – while doubling our population, tripling our employment, and adding thousands of new homes and millions of square feet in industrial and commercial space.
This is an exciting, busy, and productive time for Wilsonville. Fred Meyer stores completed its construction on the $70 million, 200,000-square-foot Old Town Square shopping center, improvements will be wrapping-up on the I-5/ Wilsonville Road interchange project, new developments at Villebois and Brenchly Estates are moving forward, and several businesses are seriously looking at expansion or growth possibilities for Wilsonville.
As a visitor, new resident or business manager, Wilsonville welcomes you to our community.
