Online Auction of Faith will fund vital family health and community health efforts Wilsonville, Ore. – In order to continue serving families in need and the broader community, some local churches have pivoted their worship and outreach programs during the COVID pandemic. Wilsonville’s Episcopal Church is a good example. Since March 2020, St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church membership has remained dedicated to meeting community-based needs through the innovative delivery of numerous efforts while they observed safe health practices.
“In scripture, it is abundantly clear that we are called to care for one another. Out of the challenges of this past year, we have experienced unexpected grace when we have stopped and cared for one another. Loving our neighbors is the finest way for us to love God.”
Fundraising to support the initiatives has continued as well. St. Francis parishioners will present their first online auction in May. According to Carole Biskar, event co-chairman, the goal is to raise $20,000 for COVID relief, Wilsonville and Canby food banks, holiday dinners for more than 50 families, backpacks and supplies for local elementary schools, Portland Rescue Mission, and Stove Team International.
The entire community is welcome and encouraged to take part in the auction. To register, visit the auction page on the church website. Preview items from May 5 to May 15 and bid when the auction is live online May 16 to May 23.
