The Wilsonville Area Chamber of Commerce (WACC) is pleased to announce the availability of two (2) CTE $1,000 scholarships to Wilsonville graduating seniors. These scholarships are specifically designed for post-high school students planning on attending an accredited vocational-technical school and can be used for tuition, specialized equipment or tools.

The purpose of the WACC Trade & Workforce Scholarship is to address current and future shortages in the region’s workforce, notably the lack of skilled trades workers. In light of growing demand for middle-skill jobs, vocational training offers a practical alternative to traditional postsecondary degrees.

“Wilsonville employers consistently share with us their need for skilled workers in our trade industries and that is why we have developed this unique scholarship opportunity.  Supporting students who plan to establish careers here in Wilsonville is a great way for the Chamber to invest in our future workforce and economic vitality of our community,” said Kevin O’Malley, President, and CEO of the Chamber.

Scholarships are available to ANY Wilsonville student that will graduate high school or earn a GED in 2018 and will be enrolling in a vocational, technical & trade school program in the Fall of 2018.  The applicant must reside in Wilsonville, Oregon at the time of application.

The application is available now and due on January 8, 2018.  For additional information, call the Chamber at 503.682.0411 x102 or download an application here.
